The origins and development of Bliss of Hinton, a private integrated experiential learning and resort development, are the result of the beliefs, experience and expertise of the investors and senior management. Bliss of Hinton will bring together a hotel/resort, conference centre, retail
activities, food and beverage offerings and a research and study facility.
In part, the concept has been driven by a conviction that the hospitality and visitor industry requires a significant paradigm shift, not only to meet the realities of today’s marketplace and human capital challenges but also to ensure that the industry itself is an effective contributor in improving the quality-of-life in the communities in which the industry operates. It is also driven by the realization of the need for a visitor economy where the industry plays an influential role in helping to create inspired communities through community economic development. The focus of Bliss of Hinton is on smaller communities and hospitality operations.
Our team of shareholders, architects, educators, academic researchers and hospitality professionals has decades of global experience in creating memorable experiences, experiential learning and world-class developments and cannot wait to get to work in the community of Hinton.
Currently Bliss of Hinton is headquartered at 247 Pembina Ave. with the intention of developing a new parcel of land in the community.
PAR 999 has signed an Integrated Project Development (IPD) agreement with a budget of $500,000 in upfront costs for the design, development and construction of the site. IPD is a construction project delivery method that seeks the efficiency and involvement of all participants (people, systems, business structures and practices) through all phases of design, fabrication, and construction. Construction is projected to start in late fall 2024.om at Bliss of Hinton is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
PAR999 purchased the former GPRC campus for $1.2m and has carried out $500,000 of renovations including state-of-the-art classrooms, the installation of a wide range of innovative computer technologies, administrative spaces, a research lab, and a soon to be completed student lounge. Presently the ground floor has been leased out to the Courts while their building is undergoing renovation. As part of the development, there are a number of statutory planning documents that must be submitted and approved by the Council and the Town of Hinton.
While it is always difficult to calculate the economic and job impacts of any new development, we have found comparable projects that have seen anywhere from 170-200 full and part time positions created in addition we anticipate adding students to the seasonal workforce.
The service agreement between EHL Advisory Services and PAR999 was signed on January 12, 2023. There have been ongoing discussions and a collaborative development initiative will commence in 2024 on the design of CHSR’s first undergraduate degree.
